Casinos need new players. If you are a new poker player or if you have never played in a casino before ( played only at home or online), you should observe the following rules:-

a) It doesn't matter if you look like a new player.This is a very important rule. Please do not worry about how you are looked by others. your goal is to earn money and have fun. It is better to look like a new player than an experienced pro. Because experienced players generally tend to play less aggressively against new players.
b) Act in turn.Place your bet when it is your turn to do so. Do not take much time to place your bet Also,do not bet too soon.

c) Gather information before you sit down to play

In a poker room,the only free item is information. So you should gather as much information as you can before starting to play. Walk around the room and read the rulebook. Watch the players play and loose money. See if any tournament is on and what are the prizes. Some poker rooms offer free parks, such as you can earn points which can be redeemed for food,room or other things. Before starting to play,all these informations should be found out.

d) Only play a game which you can afford.

When you are first visiting a poker room,only select a game with limits you can afford. If you lose money,it won't hurt you much.

e) Have many breaks in your session.

Playing poker in a casino is much different from a home game. Casino games are much faster and the players tend to make decisions fast. This fast pace may be tiring for the new player and he is likely to lose his concentration and make wrong decisions. So it is better for a new player to take breaks between games. A new player should not play for more than an hour. After that he should take a break,review his game and would come back to the game only if he is confident to play again.
